Welcome To Dakota, the Summerhill Duck Toller

This sweet Duck Toller has been with us over 3 weeks now and rocks her onleash walks day in and day out! We’re so happy she chose K9 Kate’s to be her new, force free dog walker. Welcome Dakota!

Welcome Juliet and Lucky, the Little Italy, Aussie Shepherd Mixes

How much cuteness can exist in one picture? THIS much. Welcome to these two sweethearts. Both dogs have joined K9 Kate’s for private dog walks around Little Italy. They are doing SO well and we can’t to congratulate them as they move to group. Thanks to their pawrent, Katie, for reaching out to another Kate in town and for letting us hang out with these darling dogs!

Welcome to onleash dog walks, Pepa the Rescue Dog Superhero!

This Annex dog has been joining our force free dog walks since the late fall and has been a wonderful addition to our group. Together, we’re working on skills and, more importantly, being comfortable with being handled by someone other than Pepa’s parents. Pepa, you rock and we love you!

Welcome Callie the Rosedale Lab

We’re so lucky: we walk two amazing dogs named Callie! The OG has been walking and running with us since our early days when I would run the streets of Forest Hill with 6 dogs clipped to my back … oh to be young!

Now, both dogs are in the park on our offleash walks and can be found with walker Bryan at parks like Winston Churchill, Ramsden and Bickford.

This special Callie has been walking with us since the fall. She came to us a dog walker’s dream: social, strong recall and great with every dog she meets.

Welcome sweet Callie. I’m so happy you chose K9 Kate’s to be your new Toronto dog walker.

Welcome Lucy the American Bulldog

Meet Lucy! This Annex pup has been walking with K9 Kate’s offleash since early fall and we absolutely adore her (and she adores EVERYONE)! Lucy is a rescue pup who was referred to us by fellow force free, Toronto dog walking company Toronto Diamond Dogs. We’re so happy we get to hang out with her. She officially renders us the most fun, most adorable dog walking company this city has seen … officially (I am the completely unbiased judge of that). Welcome Lucy, you rule!

Hanging up our Leashes for the Holidays. Back in action January 3rd!

Happy holidays! We’re hanging up our leashes for the break and will reopen January 3rd. Please connect through our website to join our crew and we'll get you started after the break, whether you’re looking for onleash or offleash, group or private dog walks, some puppy loving or a special place that’s force-free to board. Woof!

Welcome to our new dog walkers: Hannah and Heidy 2.0

Welcome to our newest dog walker and cat sitter, Heidy!

Heidy joins our team with a ton of experience, education and devotion to force free handling. She’s actually a veterinarian as well as a dog walker which is, let’s face it, pretty cool! We not only walk the dogs of our local vets but now have one officially on our team.

Heidy is a cat mom whose passion and devotion to all animals is so clear in the joy and enthusiasm she brings to work each and every day.

I mentioned in the welcome to Hannah that I do feel our dog walking team really can’t be beat, and the addition of Heidy as well just confirms that (at least to me and all of my potential biases).

Heidy walks Monday-Sunday in the Annex and Harbord Village and, yes, she is pretty amazing!

Welcome to our new dog walkers: Hannah and Heidy 1.0

Hannah has been with our award winning, Toronto dog walking team for the past 6 weeks and we’re so happy to officially welcome her to K9 Kate’s!!

Hannah is an experienced walker with 3 years under her walking belt and treat waist pack. You can find her walking the mean streets of Yorkville and The Annex Monday through Friday.

Hannah is a cat mom and true lover of all of our four legged friends. She’s a team player, dog lover, and now a member of, dare I say, the finest dog walking team in Toronto (maybe I’m biased but come on?)

Hannah, welcome to our team! We’re so happy you joined us

Welcome Sydney the Border Collie Mix!

Hi Ziggy and Sydney! Sydney, on the right, has been heading out daily for park walks since early fall and is such a wonderful addition to the K9 Kate’s family! This Rosedale pup is sweet with EVERY dog she meets, and that deserves a treat :) Welcome Sydney!

Welcome to Harry the Annex Pomsky!

Welcome to Harry! This sweet boy has been joining us on our adventure walks since the fall (yes, we are behind on welcomes and have been busayyyyyyy in the park!!)

Here’s Harry at Ramsden Park earlier today. We’re so happy this adorable pup joined our crew!

Delayed Welcome to Bryan our longtime Boarder and our New Dog Walker (Finally!)

Meet our newest dog walker, Bryan C! Maybe you already know him?

Bryan is entering his second year of boarding with K9 Kate’s and is truly a client favourite. He goes the extra mile (plus ten) for each and every dog. He offers our clients - and referrals too- boarding at his incredible home that includes acres where the dogs can run and play safely (3 dogs max))

Bryan has been professionally dog walking for over ten years but was on hiatus after the birth of his daughter.

Well, he’s back! Starting October 3rd, Bryan will be an offical member of our dog walking team. I know that he will be as beloved in this role as he has been as a boarder, which he will continue to be. Welcome (to walking with us) Bryan (C)!

Welcome Georgie the Golden Retreiver

Welcome to our new friend Georgie in the middle who had a truly “golden” start this week.

Here she is at Bickford Dog Park with her two new best, Bernadoodle buddies, Alfred and Mumford. Georgie is a great addition to our group: she’s great with the other dogs, has solid recall already, and is ready to pawty all day long. Welcome Georgie and thanks for chosing K9 Kate’s to be your new, Toronto dog walker!

Welcome Larry the Bernadoodle Bumpkin

Say ‘woof woof’ to our TWO, Bloorcourt Bernaoodle Bumpins: Larry (left) and Shadow. Larry has been walking onleash with K9 Kate’s for the past month and rocks his walks every time. He also found his dog best friend in Shadow, which is a pretty great thing :) Welcome Larry! We’re so happy you chose us to be your (Toronto, force free!) dog walker!

Welcome Alfred the French Bulldog

This Rosedale pup joined our adventure walks earlier this week and has absolutely rocked his walks. He’s been making his way around the city’s dog parks, from Ramsden to Brickworks. Alfred, we’re so happy we get to hang out with you. Welcome to K9 Kate’s!

Welcome Monty the Annex Labradoodle

This Annex pup started 2 weeks ago on private dog walks and is doing SO well. His loose leash walking skills are on point. In no time, Monty will join a group; he’s a little bit shy (who isn’t?!) so we’re having a softer start and then a move to onleash, group dog walks. This is standard procedure for K9 Kate’s: we want your dog to be set up for success! Not all dogs can be placed off the bat into a group, offleash dog walk with a dog walker they’ve never met. We are always mindful of this. Your dog deserves to be on the walk where they feel their best, whether that’s a mellow sniff and stroll or a one hour pawty in the park. Welcome Monty! We’re so happy we get to hang out with you, and that you’re letting us take our time with you, darling boy!

Welcome Truffles the Yorkville Cockapoo!

This adorable pup has been walking with K9 Kate’s for just over one month and is doing SO well. We decided to wait until he’s a bit older to start adventure walks. Right now, Truffles’ goal (he has goals of course) is loose leash walking! So, he’s been joining Mark Y (yes, we have two Marks who volunteered at When Hounds Fly walking our dogs) on semi-private dog walks around Yorkville. Soon, Truffles will be the teacher to the next group of puppies. Truffles, we’re so proud of you and so happy that you chose K9 Kate’s to be your Toronto dog walker.

Welcome Jasper and Pepper the Annex Beagles

Let’s get loud for these loud and proud Beagles!!

Jasper and Pepper started on adventure walks last week and are doing so well with their new friends. They’ll soon start force-free training with the one and only Andrea to continue the work we’ve started in the park: let’s go recall!

These dogs are such a great addition to our group: they’re so dog social and they’re great students: even after 2 walks, they’re recall has improved so much. Welcome to the Annex and to K9 Kate’s Jasper and Pepper!! We’re so happy we get to hang out with you!

K9 Kate's business listing (and 50+ five star reviews) Currently Down

Do you see that boot? Three weeks ago tomorrow, I had a joint fusion in my big toe. Apparently, my feet didn’t “love” the many years of running in the morning followed by walking dogs all day. Still, I’ve loved it so much I wouldn’t trade a thing!

It just so happens that a few days after the surgery, I was notified that our Google business listing and the more than 50 five star reviews aligned with it had been suspended. I was also notified that it would take roughly two weeks to resolve. GIven I was on rest, it wasn’t too concerning but, close to 3 weeks later, it’s still down!

Normally, this wouldn’t be too problematic; this is a dog walking and training company that’s almost always at/near capacity but, for the first time in a long time, finds itself in the inverse situation. Expecting the massive pre-Labour day rush of new dogs, we have brought on 2 amazing dog walkers … and no one can find us!!

Oh the pain! Joint fusion doesn’t even come close.

Thankfully, other companies and our own clients have been helpful in referring to us while this is happening (big shout out especially here to our friends at We Wag Toronto, Andre Yeu at the incomparable When Hounds Fly, and force-free powerhouses like Pet Social Club)!

Still, we want you to find us! This is a uniquely talented team of dog walkers. Everyone is experienced, force-free and brings their A game every walk. It is what separates us from your average company and it is also why K9 Kate’s has received 3 nods as being among Toronto’s best dog walking companies.

So, while I sit here in my boot, I want you to know that we are accepting new dogs, both onleash and offleash.

Should this continue into next week, we will rebuild our business page until once again, you can easily find us when you search for your new (and ideally) force-free Toronto dog walker! We can’t wait to connect with you soon - boots are optional, dogs are a must! Woof!

Welcome Bass, the Bernese Mountain Dog

Bass is another dog who recently joined our foce-free, adventure walks and will also be starting his first housesit soon! This Deer Park hunk is a wonderful addition to our group; he’s great with other dogs and loves to play with everyone! You can find him at local dog parks Ramsden Dog Park and Winston Churchill with his K9 Kate’s crew. Big welcome to this bubba!!!

Welcome to Betty, the Blue Lacy Mix

This Annex wonderpup joined K9 Kate’s adventure walks 2 weeks ago and we’re so happy she did. Betty is born to run … and run … and PLAY! She is the perfect park dog. Betty, thanks for choosing K9 Kate’s to be your Toronto dog walker!
