Welcome Charlie, the Annex Vizsla

Charlie has been walking offleash with K9 Kate’s for the past few weeks and is a total sweetheart! Here she is braving the cold (she doesn’t seem to mind though!) at local dog park, Bickford. Thanks for choosing K9 Kate’s to be your Toronto dog walker, Charlie. We are looking forward to many adventures together!

Welcome Coco, the Bernadoodle Puppy!

This adorable Little Italy puppy was referred to us by our friends at When Hounds Fly and I am proud to say that she continues to soar to new heights with the K9 Kate team.

Coco will be on puppy visits for about two months and then look at joining group as she leaves her official puppy days behind her. We are so happy Coco and her family were referred to us and that we get to spend time with such nice dogs each and every day. Welcome Coco!

Welcome Archie, the Little Italy Cavapoo!

Meet Archie, our newest friend to join our leashed walks!

This sweet guy who was referred to us by When Hounds Fly trainer Ethan Spiegel, has been rocking his leashed walks with his new homie, long time K9 Kate’s walker … Homie! We love both of these awesome dogs. Thanks for choosing us to be your Toronto dog walker and for keeping things force free, Archie! Woof woof!

K9 Kate's Included in Best Toronto Dog Walkers' Lists Again x2

We are thrilled to announce that K9 Kate’s received nominations from The Toronto Star (which none of us saw until after the deadline and missed the chance to tell our clients to vote… because we were working) and another shout out from torontoblogs.ca for being the best of the best when it comes to Toronto dog walking.

Why us? Force free, a small team so you always have a walker, unique services designed to change the game (like the Re-treat and training with walker integration), complimentary meet and greets, a user friendly automated booking and messaging system that couldn’t make things easier and error free for the client, and a one in a million team and group of dogs.

Thank you for supporting us for close to a decade now. We will always be there for you and the dogs as you’ve been there for us!

Your 2024 Team

We had an incredibly special night Friday although a key players couldn’t make it.

Anyone who knows knows that staffing is one of the biggest challenges of owning your own business. This group makes it easy and brings a smile to my face each and every day with their kindness, compassion, humour and love of dogs. They are by far the best, most cohesive team I’ve had the pleasure of working with. No wonder we keep making Toronto’s best dog walking companies lists- it’s the team!

I love Michelle’s stoicism, Heidy’s passion, Andrea’s never ending quest for knowledge on all things canine, Juliana’s sweetness, Luci’s commitment to canine education, Joe and Hannah’s quick and dry humour, and Analisa’s positivity. They are WONDERFUL!

Thank you to everyone who lets us spend time with their dogs every day. We do love them and appreciate.it and you!

Welcome Sky, the Yorkville Aussie Shepherd

Sky has been walking with K9 Kate’s for about 2 months now. We are so proud of him and his mom who ditched the prong collar after our meet and greet and are living their best force free lives ever since. We love Sky and are so happy he and his mom chose us to hang out with. Welcome Sky!

Welcome Esmerelda, the Ossington Rescue Pup!

Esmerelda has been heading out with us on private walks. When she’s a bit older, we know she’ll be a great addition to our groups. She’s a real sweetheart and we’re grateful to spend time with her. Welcome Esmerelda!

Announcements: The Re-treat, Training with Walker Integration, Sitting with our Vet Techs, Join our Team

Hi fellow animal lovers! We are thrilled to announce the launch of new services that I know many of you will appreciate, and that we are hiring for offleash walks around Trinity Bellwoods. Details below.

Our new services:

1. Training with Walker Integration:

Many of you know Andrea, our longstanding senior trainer. She is also the founder of City Dogs, Educanine, co-founder of Republic of Dogs, and teaches at Centennial College.

We both noticed the inefficiency of training walks for our purposes and soft launched training with walker integration which includes free walker support (amount determined by the package) to make sure everyone on your dog's team is following the same plan and it's reinforced from all angles. The results have been fantastic and I've seen it directly with the dogs I've assisted with.

2. The Re-Treat

The Re-treat is our alternative to board and trains. For $90/training day we will include training support (up to two visits) when your dog boards/housesits.

3.  Cat Sitting and Dog Boarding with a Vet Tech

This small team boasts some heavy hitters, let alone from our training staff.

Two of our walkers are certified vet techs and one is a veterinarian. We are now offering both boarding and sitting with a vet tech as a service.

I'm truly thrilled to work with such an amazing team and to be able to offer these services to you and to Toronto's dogs and cats. We've made a few lists for Toronto's best walking company and whether or not that's true, I do know we are certainly changing the game for the better.

In that vein, we are looking for someone special to join our team.

You must meet the following requirements:

  • Be punctual and reliable. Days are short but they run like clockwork.

  • Have a cellphone.

  • Have the ability to work under intense conditions (e.g., weather, physical challenges, fast-paced).

  • No criminal record.

  • Live in close proximity to downtown Toronto.

  • Be both an animal and people person. Our clients (two-legged and four-legged) are treated like family

  • Have professional or volunteer experience handling dogs that has preferably been positive reinforcement only.

  • Be available to work around Trinity Bellwoods from 12-215 with the opportunity to move to full time.

  • Be comfortable in a dog park and have a vehicle.

  • Have 5 years of general work experience.

Compensation is per dog and is based on experience. It starts at $15/dog on a group walk with a maximum of 6 dogs/group.

Please include in a cover letter: your experience, availability, and the make and model of your vehicle, and forward it to k9kates365@gmail.com.

Thank you and we can’t wait to hear from you/woof woof!

New Service: Cat Visit with a Certified Vet Tech

For a small team, we have some heavy hitters.

Andrea Dinan, one of the city’s top trainers, offers a unique training with walker integration program through K9 Kate’s.

Two of our walkers are certified vet techs. and one is a veterinarian. Recently, a couple needed help: their cat needed injections while they travelled but their sitter wasn’t comfortable with that. Well, we have a team that is.

If you have a special needs cat or just want an extra qualified sitter, K9 Kate’s has the solution for you. As always, please reach out through our site or email (k9kates365@gmail.com) and we’ll get back to you as soon as we can. Meow!

Welcome Bella, The Bloourcourt Toy Poodle

This angel dog started with us when she was just a few months old. She first began on puppy visits, then graduated to private walks and is now marching along with the bid dogs on group leashed walks. Welcome sweet girl!

Welcome Otto, the Annex Husky/Poodle Mix

Welcome Otto! Otto has been walking with K9 Kate’s for a few months now and we just love him. This adorable pup is a great fit with his new friends and is a wonderful addition to our group. Thanks for choosing us to hang out with you, buddy.

Welcome Rosie, the super Seaton Village Bulldog!

Rosie has walked with K9 Kate’s for the past few months and is a fantastic addition to our group. Here she is with William the Whippet and Blue the Sheepadoodle.

We love you, Rosie! Thank you for choosing us to be your dog walker!

Welcome Oscar, The Annex Maltipoo!

Sweet Oscar has walked and trained with K9 Kate’s for the past month. He’s not only a great addition to our group, he also has the BEST underbite in town. Welcome Oscar :)

Happy International Women's Day from all of us at K9 Kate's!

Before today, this gem from 2017 with Callie, Laila and Tundra hadn’t been posted. Even before that, K9 Kate’s started with dogs that needed to run and weren’t getting that or couldn’t get that from the dog park. We all ended up in the park anyway but we sure did hustle and work to get there.

It’s important to celebrate women and to fight for and protect their rights so we can all continue to run our businesses (and our dogs!) together! Woof woof (the dogs agree).

Welcome Murphy, the Bloorcourt Goldendoodle Prince!

This beautiful boy started private walks and training with us about 1 month ago. This week, he’ll be starting his first housesit and, after that, Murphy is graduating to group walks. To see this boy’s amazing growth in such a short time is what this job is all about. Shout out to Murphy and his parents who couldn’t be lovelier to work with and meet us right in the middle when it comes to investing in Murphy!
